PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: WYIS is "Running' to a healthier Community

Category: Behavior Incentives

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Colored Paper and a Printer

Most of my boards have to do with motivating the students to do well in class. Because, we are an international school we require that the students speak English, which for some children is particularly hard especially if they come to our school with NO English speaking ability. However, the motivation of these boards usually help and increase their learning. This quarter we are earning “shoes” Not only can they earn shoes during class but NOW they are being asked to exercise outside of the class room. Because I am in China we have very limited sources as far as borders/letter cut outs/etc. everything on my boards are able to be made ANYWHERE! Hope these are helpful!

Additional Information:

You can see on the board that there are different shoe boxes. There is a shoe box for every grade level. Students must try to get the most "shoes" inside the box by the end of May. Which ever class has the most shoes will then be the winner, and get to pick a prize from the prize box.

How can you get shoes? (The red and blue papers give specific instructions, a little hard to see in the picture)

IN class they can earn a shoe by...

- All speaking English
- Listening to the teacher
- Respecting each other
- Respecting the PE equipment
- Having fun!

Out of the PE setting students can earn shoes for their class by...
- Exercising three times a week, filling the exercise form out and returning it to Ms Miller.
