PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Locomotors Take You Places

Category: Movement Vocabulary

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Construction paper, caboose die cuts, letters

The purpose of this bulletin board is to teach students about locomotor movement. The board is a picture of a train with all the cars labeled locomotor movements (skip, gallop, walk, slide, leap, jump, hop) . The title reads "Locomotors take you places". The engine and conductor were made from construction paper. The border is made of caboose die cuts. One of the objectives I stress to students is that a locomotor movement is something you do to get from one place to another. This bulletin board is simple, but reinforces what locomotor movements are for k-2 students.
