PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Exercise Up A Snow Storm!

Category: Seasons (Fall, Spring, etc.)

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Construction paper, snow flakes, lettering

In the wintertime kids are less likely to exercise because they cannot play outside. I created a bulletin board to show students and teachers that even with snow on the ground physical education students are still exercising. I created a snowman out of construction paper. Each part of the snowman was a different ball (baseball, football, and basketball). I also put sneakers on the snowman and stapled snowflakes to the board. Students later listed indoor/cold weather exercises and we stapled them to the board in between the flakes. The title of the board "We Are Exercising Up A Snow Storm!" was placed at the top of the bulletin board. This was a constant reminder to students to stay active in the winter, and the loved looking at the board and adding their own indoor exercises to the snowflakes.
