PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Beat True To Your Heart

Category: About the Body

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Navy Blue Bulletin Board paper, Red Construction Paper, Light Blue Construction Paper, Multi Colored Construction paper, Crayola quick dry clay, red & Blue Paint, 10 mini lights, Sharpie Markers

In honor of Valentine's Day and American Heart Month (February), I created a Bulletin Board to display "Did You Know" fun facts about the heart.

The heart also display a Mr. Healthy Heart who is surrounded ways and ideas to keep your heart healthy.

In the center of the board, there is a hand sculpted Human Heart which is made out of Crayola Quick Dry Clay. I mounted the heart to a piece of black foam board with liquid nails and mounted the foam board to the bulletin board with liquid nails.

I also made a small display of a heart rate which has the 10 mini lights mounted on it so it lights up. These lights are battery operated and can be turned on and off easily.

I wanted to make the student aware of heart health and I wanted them to know ways to "Beat True to Their Hearts"!
