PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Tally Mark Your Activities

Category: Seasons (Fall, Spring, etc.)

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: construction paper, clip art pictures

After we returned from summer break, I had this bulletin board up by the gym. Students were supposed to put a tally mark next to any activities they participated in during the summer. Tally marks are practiced during their math time, so this was an easy was to integrate math. It also encouraged students to take note of what kind of physical activity they participated in and hopefully, it will encourage kids to think about activities for the next summer. The board will be revisited in the June to remind students of last year's activities to encourage further participation.
