PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: The Food Pyramid

Category: Nutrition

Suggested Grade Level: K-8

Materials: Background paper, food boarder, food cutouts, small shoe box, magnets, cut out letters, and contruction paper.

This board was designed for a kindergarten health class, but it would be suitable for any K-5 health class. The board was constructed as a way to introduce students to the food pyramid and also inform the viewer about the importance of eating balanced meals. The refrigerator in the bottom left corner was made out of a small shoe box and was designed open and hold magnets that students could take home and place on their own refrigerator to remind themselves about how to eat balanced meals.
