Title of Bulletin Board: Make a Healthy Heart Your Valentine

Category: Holiday-Valentine's Day

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Construction Paper, Yarn, Markers, Red and White Poster Board, Cotton Balls, Red Border

"Make a Healthy Heart Your Valentine" is a theme developed to promote heart health during the Valentine holiday. The letters are framed in hearts and valentines open up to reveal various ways to promote heart health, such as drink plenty of water, exercise, get plenty of sleep, and eat healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. The characters were made by cutting out poster board and other decorations were made from construction paper. Cotton balls on tape make heart shaped clouds to add texture to the bulletin board. Also the girls hair was made by threading it through a slit cut into the top of her head.
This board was built as part of an elementary education health class at Eastern Kentucky University.
