PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Winter Olympics - Vancouver 2010

Category: Olympics

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Photos, construction paper, markers, pictures, scissors, glue

This bulletin board is to advertise the 2010 Olympic Games that will be taking place in a couple of weeks. Since my students will be performing some of the sports in their PE classes, I wanted to introduce the activities through this medium. The top of the bulletin board contains a map that locates Vancouver, Canada and its proximity to our location. The Olympic Flag is displayed with a description, along with the Olympic Oath. A schedule of the events is included. The middle of the board is a wintry scene (snow covered mountains) with pictures of the mascots representing the various events of the Vancouver Games. The bottom third of the bulletin board is a collage of photographs of athletes performing in their sport. At the very bottom are photographs of members of the U.S. Olympic Team.
