PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Daily Activity = Healthy Heart

Category: Physical Activities

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: butcher paper, any border, cut out or printed letters, healthy heart character or something similar, cut out hearts

With February being Heart Month and many schools (including ours) holding their Jump Rope for Heart events, I thought it'd be a great idea to do a bulletin board about keeping our hearts healthy and strong. Our school nurse had this picture of a cartoon heart lifting weights, representing a healthy heart. I used an overhead projector to make it bigger and then just colored it to match. Then I took a printable heart template and on each heart listed an activity for your heart (i.e. jump rope, play soccer, dance, hula hoop, climb a tree, etc.). This bulletin board is in the hallway where students enter our Multipurpose room. It will be up through the month of February and will serve as a good reminder that DAILY ACTIVITY = HEALTHY HEART!!
