Equipment Name: Sock Balls for Striking with Implements
Materials Needed: Lollipop paddles or a type of short paddle to strike with, elementary tube socks.
Estimated Cost: $3.00 for 3 pair.
Rationale: Working on individual striking skills for 1st and 2nd graders. Give each student one rolled up sock and one lollipop paddle. Let them try different ways to strike or hit the sock.
Directions For Making:
Lay one tube sock flat and roll it up
toward the open end and tuck it inside the top of the sock. (Like when you
do lanudry and you match up socks. Just roll up one tube sock.)
Teacher may have to keep
rolling additional socks as they get flat over time.
