Equipment Name: Rhythm Shakers
Materials Needed: Large empty plastic gum ball machine containers, beans, rice, bells, corn.
Estimated Cost: $2.00-10.00 for the gum container usually
Rationale: These can be used as instruments for the children to play with as you work on rhythms. Clear plastic containers allow the children to see what is inside of their shaker so this can be motivating and fun for them.
Directions For Making:
Open the gum container (can get these at any Sam's or Wal Mart Store). Put any of the materials mentioned above inside and then secure with tape so the materials do not fall out. Different amounts will change the pitch so fill as full as you wish.
