Finding a Personal Space

Suggested Grade Level: PRE-K

Find a "X"/"personal space" on the floor(different colored tape is used in the shape of a "X"). I say "X" marks the spot and "X" is where you eXercise.

Once your feet are on a "X" you are stuck like glue. On the count of three everyone should have their space or I'll find one for you.

Now draw an imaginary box around yourself. The larger the box the more space you have to move in. Really stretch to draw your box.

You can move to the front of your box, to the back, and to the sides of your box.(Have them demonstrate by moving to the front, back and sides)

Don't move too far away from your box or you will be close to others and may get hit by flying arms or legs and that's not safe.

If someone gets too close to you remind them to move back to their personal space, "X", or box.
