Purpose of Activity: To reward and encourage positive behavior. Suggested Grade Level: 1-5 Materials Needed: Paint, wooden clothes pins, fine tip marker. Description of Idea I have painted and decorated wooden clothes pins. On each of them, I have written a positive message (i.e., great job, outstanding, super, way to go, fantastic, keep it up). When I see a student doing something really well, I give them a clothes pin to put on their shirt. This identifies the student to the class and makes them aware of what they should be doing. The student must maintain good behavior throughout the entire class to keep the clothes pin. Those students who received the pin get to line up first and the other students are encouraged to clap for them. The students really love receiving the clothes pins. It makes them feel really good. |
