Prerequisites: This is a theme-based holiday activity. It should only be used after moving to "open spaces" and proper dodging and fleeing skills have been taught. Suggested Grade Level: 3-5 Materials Needed: Cones for general space boundaries, 4 pinnies for "Elf" taggers. Description of Idea Four students are picked to be the "elf" taggers. When a student gets tagged they freeze and put their thumbs on their head and spread their fingers out like antlers. In order to be unfrozen free runners approach the frozen player from the FRONT and they sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer together. After the song they give each other a high ten and rejoin the activity. Remind the students there is no guarding and they need to watch where they are going. |
