Purpose of Activity: Cooperation, working with a partner, learning steps to a specific dance Prerequisites: Grapevine step, Do Si Do, partner switches Suggested Grade Level: 6-8 Recommended music: We've Got It Going On by the Backstreet Boys (from Amazon.com) Beginning dance formation: Double circle with partners on the inside circle facing out and the outside circle facing in. Dance starts over from the beginning with a new partner. Assessment Ideas: I evaluate the kids strictly on how willing they are to work with different people and how hard they are trying to learn the steps. |
