![]() Name of Activity: Through the Jungle
Suggested Grade Level: K-2 Description of Idea Have the students spread out evenly throughout the activity space. The teacher stands in the very front of the space and has the students pretend like they are running through a jungle by jogging in place. Explain to them you are their eyes and you'll tell them if anything is coming. Kids stay in self space and do the movements in their self space. Then the teacher begins calling out things like: - a low tree branch is up ahead! DUCK! Be creative with the types of things you yell out. I once told the students that if I yelled out, "HIDE! The monkeys are close!" The students would drop to the ground on their stomachs and the monkeys had to freeze. |
