Materials: Red and gold foil , yellow and black bulletin board paper

Description:

This board shows a sun with sunglasses on. There are alternating red and gold beams of sunshine. In each beam is a sun smart suggestion.

It was felt that students don't do enough to protect themselves from the sun. Students were urged to wear sunscreen and hats for PE classes. In our area of the country, we get a lot of sunshine in the spring and summer months.

In each beam I had the following information:

-Put on UV sunglasses
-Wear clothing to protect the skin
-Limit time in the sun between 11:00 - 4:00
-Look for shaded areas to do activities
-Use sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher
-Wear a hat.
