Bio:
Ben is a K-12 certified Physical Education teacher and has been teaching K-5 Phys Ed since 2007. He has completed National Board Certification in Phys Ed and also has a Masters in Education from Southern Wesleyan University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from University of South Carolina. Ben also serves as a Clinical Model Teacher for the University of South Carolina, helping to mentor future Physical Education teachers as part of their graduation requirement. He is the also founder of ThePEspecialist.com a resource site helping Physical Educators take their teaching game to the next level.

Bio:
Jorge Rodriguez is originally from McAllen, Texas and now lives in Houston. He attended the University of Houston where he was a high jumper on the track team and earned his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology with a minor in health. Jorge later went on to receive his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. He is currently a physical education teacher at Harvard Elementary (an IB and STEM magnet school) in the Houston Independent School District, and is a Lead Teacher and the KEY teacher for physical education for the district. He is also an active member in Texas AHPERD, and sits on the recreation and social media committees and chairs the diversity section. Jorge absolutely loves his profession and is dedicated to do all he can to make it better!
Presentation Highlights:

  • June 2016 - Champ Camp, Half day seminar on constructivist approach in PE to an audience of 300 PE teachers.
  • April 2016 - SHAPE National Convention, I presented a 2 hour session on using augmented reality in PE.
  • March 2016 - California AHPERD, I was a guest presenter for Spark. I presented on Neuorscience, SOLO Taxonomy, and Cooperative Learning.
  • December 2015 - Texas AHPERD, I presented on how to use social media for professional development.

Bio:
Justin Currently teaches physical education, health, and technology in Springfield Elementary School grades prek-6th in NJ. He has taught there for 5 years. He previously taught for 5 years at Mercer County Special Services and Lambertville Public School. He is the brain behind #slowchatpe and slowchatpe.wordpress.com which is the impetus for the slow chat (question a day) which is a question a day on Twitter and Voxer. He is also the co-creator of voxerpe.com and the voxer physical education chat which has 500 physical education teachers from all over the world.
