Name of Activity:

Class of the Week

Purpose of Activity:

To encourage students to work together in an effort to be the most well behaved PE group for the week.

Prerequisites:

Students should have a clear understanding of what the established rules are of the teacher and class.

Suggested Grade Level:

K-5

Materials Needed:

Any token or medallion to be hung on the students classroom door at the end of each week. I use a laminated shoe that I created on my computer. It simply reads "Class of the Week".

Description of Idea

At the end of the week, I reflect on the classroom behavior performance of all of my classes. I present the "Class of the Week" shoe on the classroom door of the class that has been best behaved, most cooperative, most improved, etc. I usually put the shoe or shoes on the doors early Friday morning. The students will hold the honor for one week, and must return the shoe to me by the following Thursday afternoon.
