PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Gobble Up Good Habits (Thanksgiving)

Category: Holiday-Thanksgiving

Suggested Grade Level: K-5

Materials: Turkey and leaves

I drew a turkey body on a piece of poster paper, colored it in, and stapled it in the middle of my bulletin board. I used an assortment of colored paper to make the turkey feathers. Down the sides of the board I stapled laminated leaves of assorted colors. On each leaf I printed a good habit (always say please and thank you, listen to your parents and teachers, exercise for 60 minutes every day, always wash your hands, be a good sport, etc.). The students could see the board everytime they walked into the gym and during each lesson we discussed good/bad habits. The board was made to reinforce important life concepts that the students were learning in all of their classes.
