PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Turkey Bowl

Category: Special Events

Suggested Grade Level: K-5

Materials: Butcher paper for bowling pin, and wording, permanent marker

I make this giant bowling pin to use during my Canned Food Drive the week before Thanksgiving. I call it Turkey Bowling. Students bring a canned good as "their ticket to bowl." Of course all students may bowl whether they bring food or not. My local bowling alley delivers and allows me to use carpet bowling lanes and pins for free to promote in-school bowling. When students make a strike they are allowed to sign the giant bowling pin. If they make a second strike, they can put a star beside their names.
