PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Golf

Category: Sport Skills

Suggested Grade Level: 9-12

Materials: Poster board, cut-outs from golf magazines, pinking sheers, construction paper, glue, staples and stapler

This board was created so student can learn more about the sport of golf. Some of the information was used to create a "hook" or a reason to look at the board. I put a lot of pictures of pro golfers, especially Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Then I used multiple sheets of cut outs from magazines that gave easy ways to improve your golf game. I tried to focus on each part of the game. For example, I found info on how to drive straighter, ways to stop sculling iron shots, things to do with your grip and hips to chip more accurately and also improvements on putting. Since this was for High School, I didn't use an overload of information or designs, I wanted to focus just on the facts and a few easy steps for students to use the next time they were out on the course.
