Title of Bulletin Board: Be Sun Safe
Suggested Grade Level: K-5
Materials: Butcher paper, border, cut out or printed letters, pictures of items used to be safe in the sun
I found an awesome picture from the Canadian Dermatology Association that I copied (with permission) and used as a coloring sheet. The kids are familiar with it and it's very kid friendly. So I enlarged the pictures on an overhead projector and made this bulletin board. It emphasizes 5 key things you can do to be safe in the sun: sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, long sleeves and shade. The bulletin board is in our multipurpose room and the students stand in the lunch line right next to it. They are always reminding me of ways to be Sun Safe!!
