PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Fitness Testing: What Muscle Are You Working?

Category: Fitness Assessments

Suggested Grade Level: 3-6

Materials: Body outline, pictures of fitness tests, construction paper, fitness record board

During fitness testing, this bulletin board is displayed in the hall. This person outline was created with the help of the art teacher. It was an actual body outline. Added to this was each fitness test, what type of exercise it is [muscular endurance, flexibility, muscular strength], and which muscles it exercises/strengthens [triceps, biceps, quadriceps, hamstrings, gastrocnemius, abdominals]. This allows students to apply their knowledge of their muscles and identify which exercises will strengthen which muscles.
