PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Don't Sit...Get Fit!

Category: Fitness

Suggested Grade Level: 6-12

Materials: Scissors, glue, bulletin board paper, a variety sports magazines

This bulletin board was created by an 8th grade PE class during our Fitness unit. Students were asked to bring in magazine pictures of their favorite sports or activities. Using these pictures, the class created a large collage to display on the gym bulletin board. In the middle of the board I posted the Calorie Burning Activity Chart. Throughout the fitness unit students kept a log of their daily activities. Students referred to the Activity Chart in order to determine how many calories they burned performing specific activities.
