PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Walk to School

Category: Special Events

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: paper, old gym shoes, flyers about walk to school month

October was National Walk to School Month. We did many walking activities during P.E. to teach of the value of walking to school. Our school also participated in National Walk to School Day in which we met before school at a church about 3 blocks from our school and all walked to school as a group. I built the bulletin board to educate parents and students of the event and the month. I used old tennis shoes and dipped them in paint to stamp the feet. I then built a schoolhouse out of paper with our school's name on it. The door actually opens to reveal a scetch of our principal!!! I also included an informative flyer on the board for parents/students to read and info about the website
