PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: PE Words from Students (for Parent's Night)

Category: Physical Education

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Large paper, sentence strips, digital photos

To get students thinking about what PE at the begining of the school year I put this PE bulletin board up for parent's night. During the first week of school I asked students to think of a word that comes to mind when they think of PE. I collected as many words as students volunteered. I wrote the words on sentence strips that were cut to match the length of each word. I also had the students form small groups to form the letters 'P' and 'E' and photographed them to include on the bulletin board. Students and parents enjoyed looking at this during open house.

Additional Information:

I used a pre-made border (from the local 'teacher' store) which I have laminated for future use.
