PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Heart

Category: Jump Rope for Heart

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Solid color paper for background, heart border, large pieces of blue, pink, and red construction paper, labels of the parts of the heart, and a black marker.

This board was created so the students had a visual of the blood flow through the heart. It was on display during heart health month and while we did Jump Rope For Heart.

I taped large pieces of pink construction paper together and outlined the shape of the heart. Then by looking at a diagram I added then parts of the heart where blood has no oxygen in blue and the parts of the heart where blood has oxygen in red. I used tape to attach the vena cavas and the aorta. Once done we I attached the labels for the parts of the heart and added the arrows to show the direction of blood flow.
