PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Fitness Tree

Category: Holiday-Christmas/Winter

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Construction paper, cardboard, tape, staples, string

A Fitness Tree was designed out of construction paper in the shape of barbells. Each barbell getting smaller towards the top of the tree. Next to the tree were the words "Oh Fitness Tree, Oh Fitness Tree, Your Exercises are Changing Me!" The tree was decorated with Kettlebell cutouts with the saying "_________ gets fit with ________" printed on them.

Students were able to write their name on the first blank and their favorite exercise or activity on the second blank. Example" Sam gets fit with jumping jacks" This board was targeted towards the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Each grade was designated a color kettlebell (3rd grade yellow, 4th grade red and 5th grade blue. This made it easier for students to find their own kettlebell on the tree. Once all the kettlebells were filled in, they were strung up and stapled to the tree.
