PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: How To Be A Superhero In P.E.

Category: Character Education

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Bulletin Board Butcher Paper, Card Stock for all printouts and letters on the bulletin board, bulletin board border (preferably a shiny or glittery border to make it look more like a superhero theme)

This bulletin board sits on the outside wall of the gym. It is in a very visual common area of the school where all children and adults can see it. The theme for the bulletin board are character traits that a superhero would have in physical education. Those character traits are: always do your best, raise your hand to speak, listen when someone is speaking, be a team player, be responsible, follow directions, say please and thank you, be kind and helpful, and Dream Big! To make it look more comical, I added superhero comic book words often see in comics such as: BAM, POP, SPLASH, ZAP, BANG, KABOOM, CRASH, KAPOW, and WHACK! It is easy enough for all kids (K-6th) to understand. It is a fun board to look at, and it goes especially good with a superhero theme for the physical education program.
