PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: PE-More than fun and games-Scrabble

Category: Beginning of School

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Scrabble Board game, Teacher Tape, Dye cut Letters, tacks, and construction paper

I found a couple Scrabble Board games at garage sales this summer. I purchased them in hopes of trying some Pinterest ideas for Christmas ornaments. As I was brainstorming for a bulletin board idea to put up for the beginning of the school year, I happen to see the game and started playing with the letters. I tried to create words that described movements, activities, etc that make up Physical Education. I was able to use all but about eleven letter tiles.

I took a photo of the board tiles before I packed it up to finish it at school. I used teacher tape (foam double sided tape) to adhere the letters to the board. I had some tacks that were long enough to stick through the board and still go into the cork board. I used several of them around the border of the game board. With my cricut die-cut machine, I cut out the board's saying out of different colors of card stock. A solid color of construction paper for the background and a sports themed border finish it off.

Additional Information:

The inset photo is a close-up of the Scrabble Board so that you can see the words I used.
