PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Physical Education Skills In the Real World

Category: Cooperation

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Pictures, printed letters, velcro

I made this bulletin board to show the students how the skills they learn in PE transfer to the real world. For our cooperation unit, I chose pictures of people cooperating in things like field day, building a house, chorus, painting a mural, cooking, rowing, football, and more. Since I printed the pictures from the internet, I also wrote what each one was. I like the look of a polaroid picture and a caption underneath it. I chose to velcro the pictures on so that I can keep the same theme, but easily change out the pictures.

The students like looking at it as they come into the gym. They did not realize everything in PE is not just for playing sports. In the future I plan on asking the students for suggestions to put on the board.
