PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: NO MORE Campaign- March 6- 12

Category: Special Events

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: flyers, student "No More post cards", guest speakers, markers, surveys

We had a guest speaker come in from our community center to introduce the "No More" campaign, which promotes awareness to domestic violence and sexual assault. The guest speaker had each student fill out surveys at the end of the class (2 days of classes, one day focused on each topic). The surveys ended with a question asking if they would like her to come see them to discuss possible options and or needed her help. We had several students that were not on our school's radar request our guest speaker to return and speak with them.

I asked the students in my classes to write down phrases or words they would use with the NO MORE slogan postcards. The "student postcards" are surrounding the bulletin board. I used the "justification" and "silence" postcards at the bottom left of the board as examples.

I have additional close up photos of the pieces on the bulletin board if you need to add those.

top left "blue background": Weekly Schedule of events/ topics to be covered

top middle "purple background": (right side): "What is Sexual Assault?"

middle "green background" (right side): Know the facts & start a conversation

middle bottom "orange background" (right side): What is Domestic Violence
