Title of Bulletin Board: Maintaining a Healthy Weight with Minions

Category: Obesity

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Bulletin Board Paper, Construction Paper, Popsicle Sticks, Velcro, I Did it Sheet, Minion Print Outs

The theme of the bulletin board is to show students how they can maintain their weight through healthy eating and exercise. The board is set up like a game board and up to 5 students can play at once. The students will draw cards from the pile and either answer the question or complete the task. The task might be completing an exercise such as 10 jumping jacks. The question might ask how many servings of fruit do we need a day? If the students get the question right and/or complete the task then they will be able to draw from the happy pile and move up how many spaces the card says with their game piece (popsicle minion). If the student does not complete the task or get the answer right, then the student will draw from the frowning pile and move back how ever many spaces it says. The goal of the board is to make it to the YOU DID IT circle. Students can then sign the I DID IT sheet once they complete the game.
