PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: May the Forces be with You

Category: Common Core in PE

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Construction paper, letter stickers, images( Microsoft word) and glue

This is a great connection between science and PE. The bulletin board is introduced through a lesson on catching when discussing the cues for successful catching. We explain and demonstrate how we absorb the force of gravity. This allows for lessons to follow the rest of the year to describe what forces are impacting game situations or equipment. The students add the wall as they experience the forces in physical education and in the classroom. As of now, we have listed pull, push, friction and gravity.
