PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Buddy the Blood Cell Get's Circulatiing

Category: About the Heart

Suggested Grade Level: K-5

Materials: Construction Paper

This bulletin board teaches the students how blood carries oxygen through the circulatory system and drops it off at the muscles to be used for exercise. The picture on the left features a student with visible lungs to symbolize breathing in oxygen (O2) to be placed in the blood cells within the heart...travels to the heart...then oxygen-rich blood is transported to and used by the muscles (featuring the student on the right side of the heart). The by-product of carbon dioxide (CO2) travels to the heart...then to the lungs to exhale the CO2, and thus beginning the process all over again.
