PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: How many calories are in your treat? (Halloween)

Category: Holiday-Halloween

Suggested Grade Level: 4-12

Materials: paper, candy wrappers, caution tape, plastic skeleton, cutouts

My class was learning about nutrition and it is getting around the time of Halloween. This bulletin board had the words 'How many calories in your treat' on it. Then there were candy wrappers glued to Halloween colored paper and the item was listed, the size of the candy, and how many calories were in this candy at this size. This was made to see, that although there are not many calories in a fun sized candy bar, when the consumer starts eating multiple fun sized candy bars, the calories can really add up.
