Title of Bulletin Board: Common Core Math in PE

Category: Common Core in PE

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Assortment of student work, List of kid friendly "I can" math common core statements, Pictures of students on task performing the math lessons in PE, Listed Math/PE standards covered in the lessons.

In an attempt to join in on our districts school wide focus of comprehension, I decided to tackle the common core in Physical Education. We, as PE teachers, know we integrate math everyday into the gymnasium. This board just highlights specific lessons I covered relating some common core math standards to physical education standards. Students partook in measuring PE equipment, multiplication tag activities, place value and telling time relay races, and an assortment of other integrated lessons. Overall, the outcome was a hit and the board showcased all the students hard work!
