PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: W.O.W! Word of the Week Contest

Category: Common Core in PE

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Colored paper, Microsoft word, folder, Google images or clipart, winner certificates, and if possible sponsored donated prizes

To help with our school improvement plan I decided to implement literacy through a word of the week contest. The word is related to something we will be doing in class that week. The directions are: 1.Get a piece of paper 2.Write down the w.o.w and define it (spelling counts) 3.Put your full name on the paper 4.Fold the paper and put in it the folder. Every Friday the physical education teacher or previous winner will randomly pick a new winner. The winner will be announced over the morning announcements and a new w.o.w will be put up on the board.
