PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Lifelong Exercise

Category: Physical Education

Suggested Grade Level: 3-12

Materials: Construction Paper and Healthy Habit pictures

This bulletin board was created for the parents and teachers as much as it was for the students. The purpose of this board was to promote regular lifelong physical activity and acknowledge that it's something you need to work into your regular schedule. People usually can't exercise on a regular basis because they say there's not enough time in their schedule for it. I wanted to post a bulletin board that would promote exercise and mention the characteristics it takes to follow through with a regular exercise routine.

The 8 characteristics listed are:
FOCUS, know the importance of exercise and how it can improve your life.
ORGANIZATION, be sure to know weekly schedule and make time around it for exercise.
COMMITMENT, find out what kind of exercise you enjoy and stay consistent with it.
FLEXIBILITY, be prepared to adjust your work out schedule if need be.
PRIORITIZE YOURSELF, exercise needs to be important to you to stay consistent be keep all of your other obligations in perspective.
GOAL SETTING, know what you want to get out of your exercise routine then establish a process.
SELF-DISCIPLINE, force yourself to stay on top of your exercise routine.
MOTIVATION, know what gets yourself intrigued by working out and make it happen.
