PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: How Do You Grow?

Category: Health

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Construction paper, Staples,Tape, Posterboard, Scissors, and cutouts of bumble bees, cutouts of healthy phrases

The bulletin board is meant to look like a garden with the flowers, grass, bees, and the sun. Every flower represents a factor is helping children grow healthy. The garden is something that children can relate to because flowers grow just as they grow and the short phrases are easy to remember and will coincide with the big bold pictures that are on the bulletin board. The four main factors in helping a child grow are eating a balanced diet, smiling, sleeping, and exercising. These categories are short and to the point so that second graders will easily remember them and think of the flower growing when they want to know how they grow.
