Title of Bulletin Board: The 12 Days of Fitness (Christmas)
Suggested Grade Level: All
Materials: Background paper, border, pictures of presents, stick on bows, a variety of holiday wrapping paper, and typed up song phrases and exercises.
I began this bulletin board 12 school days before winter break. Each day the classes got to reveal a new exercise and completed the new exercise plus all the previous ones as their warm-up.
I typed 12 different exercises and printed them out individually. I then typed the song lyric for each of the 12 days (On the 1st day of fitness Ms. Timmins gave to me, etc.) and printed those. Then I took holiday wrapping paper and made flaps for the exercises so they were covered/hidden, and glued the song lyric to each flap.
The exercises were: 1 minute of high knees, 2 laps around the gym, 3 coffee grinders, 4 reverse lunges, 5 sumo squats, 6 curl-ups, 7 toe touches, 8 perfect push-ups, 9 mountain climbers, 10 jumping jacks, 11 heel clicks, and 12 second plank.
