Title of Bulletin Board: Hoops For Heart

Category: Fundraisers

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Construction Paper, Foam Ring, Fishing String, String Hearts, Spray Paint

The board was created to promote heart health and to help raise money for the American Heart Association through the Hoops for Heart Fundraising Day Event. The board is very large and consists of cutout hearts, cutout hands(the children participating traced their hands and wrote their team names on them) and a 3D basketball hoop. I made the hoop from a foam ring purchased at a craft store, spray painted it orange and attached strings of hearts from it. The children loved the board and it really got them interested and wanting to raise money for the event. If I could offer one word of advice if you want to do something like this it would be to make sure that the hoop is high enough so children don't pull or dunk on the hoop, its tempting!
