PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: What Can I Do To Stay Active Over The Summer?

Category: End of School Year

Suggested Grade Level: k-5

Materials: Pictures of kids in activities, color paper,

We wanted the students to know what type of activities they can do over the summer to stay active. Our purpose is to try to give them a wide range of activities not just sports. Activities such as hiking, roller-blade, swimming, dancing. There are over 60 different pictures of activities on the bulletin. At the end of each class we ask the students if there are any other activities they might be interested in doing. We added about 10 activities from the students such as archery, sailing, body surfing.

This bulletin board will be kept up until next year. At the beginning of the the school year we will asked the students what of the activities on the bulletin board they did. The students will write down the activity and their experience in doing the activity.
