PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: P.E. All-Stars

Category: Student Behavior

Suggested Grade Level: 2-5

Materials: Chart poster board, cut-out letters, border, assorted color foil stars

Each class taught is listed on poster board for all to see. Classes are then reocognized weekly for good behavior. All classes that follow the P.E. rules earn a star sticker to be placed beside their teacher's name at the end of each class. After class review I ask them "Are you P.E. All-Stars?" and they usually answer with an honest answer, but of course, I make the final decision. Each time a class earns four stars a reward is given to the class. I use the same color star for 4 weeks and if the class does not receive a star I put that days date in the box. Rewards can be stickers, treats, bookmarks, certificates, etc. Self-esteem and good behavior seems to rise the more stars their class earns.
