Title of Bulletin Board: What are you eating?

Category: Nutrition

Suggested Grade Level: 6-8

Materials: Construction Paper, Laminator, Toy Fruits and Vegetables, Glue Gun, Pictures of Fruits, Vegetables,

This is a nutrition bulletin board that I use as an educational tool to help students realize that each person makes his/her own choices when it comes to the food they eat. The 3 bright green posters say: 1.You choose what goes in your mouth. 2.Your choices affect your health. 3.Are you making healthy choices? These posters help reinforce what I teach them on a regular basis about the fact that each person makes choices for him/herself and those choices affect their life. The stop sign posters with the lines through them help reinforce what I've been teaching about choosing foods that do not contain sugar, pesticides, chemicals, additives, hormones, dyes, preservatives and GMO's (genetically modified organisms). The toy fruits and vegetables are glued to the open mouth to show some examples of food choices that do not contain those ingredients. All of the other laminated pictures are there to show that there are many healthy food options.
