PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Cardiovascular Endurance

Category: Fitness Assessments

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Heart health posters, lettering, facts about the heart.

Each year prior to the start of fitness testing, I discuss the components of health with my students. To illustrate each component I create a bulletin board that explains the meaning of each component to them and provides some educational material for them to read about. This cardiovascular endurance bulletin board is meant for the students to get a better understanding of how the heart works and what types of activities are considered cardiovascular endurance activities. These bulletin boards have been successful in the past as far as explaining to students what each component of health/fitness is really about.
