PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: The Recipe for Success in P.E.

Category: Character Education

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Background paper, boarder, pictures/drawings of cooking and kitchen related objects, giant recipe card with "ingredients" (characteristics), and letters for the title.

This bulletin board has a giant recipe card that lists all the essential ingredients one needs to have a fun and successful experience in P.E. I also created cooking related materials such as the chef hat and the mixing bowl to go along with the theme. The ingredients that I listed on my recipe card are the positive characteristics and behaviors that I encourage and expect from my students when they come into P.E. The ingredients are: sportsmanship, cooperation, respect, safety, responsibility, encouragement, goal setting, positive attitude, empathy, honesty, fairness, and trying your best.

I love this bulletin board idea. Going to set it up in my gym and talk about it the first few weeks. Thanks.

This bulletin board is awesome! I teach PE at an elem school in Houston, TX and we have a program called Recipe for Success. Our students learn how to plant, grow, harvest and cook their own healthy food! We are constantly working together, so this works perfect! THANK YOU!
