PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Wall of FAME

Category: Awards/Hall of Fame

Suggested Grade Level: 1-5

Materials: Die cut-outs and clip art

Students are encouraged to get 60 minutes of physical activity every day. I started the Wall of FAME (fitness, activity, movement and exercise) to motivate students to be more active. This is an optional program. Students who choose to do so may submit physical activity logs and I keep track of their accumulating hours. For every 20 hours of physical activity outside of school, they get a new picture on the wall. This recognition program has motivated some students to be more physically active and has made others aware of how little physical activity they get. On the wall, I currently have "20 bunnies," "40 snorty dragons," "50 foxes," and "sunny 60's."

Hi, there!

I am a pre-service teacher at USF in Tampa, Fl. I am enrolled in a P.E./Health education class and we have to look for bulletins we would use in our classroom and I LOVE THIS one! I love the idea and love the die-cuts. This board is ingenious!! Thank you so much sharing!!
