PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Tis the Season to Jingle Not Jiggle (Winter)

Category: Holiday-Christmas/Winter

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Construction paper, pictures of different foods and exercises

I wanted to make a bulletin board that showed that just because it is the Holidays, doesn't mean we should overindulge all the time. I posted the saying, "Tis the season to Jingle, jingle, not eat til you Jiggle, Jiggle!" I then printed out a bunch of pictures one that was bad or unhealthy and then a healthier version. For example I found a picture of a giant plate of cookies and one with just two cookies on it. I put a red X through the giant plate and a green check mark through the small plate. To the side I wrote "lots of cookies" and "a few cookies." This way students can see moderation is the key. Some other ideas were dark meat turkey and white meat. Bowl full of candy and one candy cane. Exercising with family and sitting alone with tv. I also posted the nutrition GLE and the food pyramid chart.
